Terms of Use

Bible Lock: Screen Time · effective September 6, 2026

The short version. The app puts Scripture between you and the apps that pull you away. It is a pause you agreed to, not a lock someone else controls: you can end it at any moment, and removing every guard takes one tap.

The agreement

By installing or using Bible Lock: Screen Time ("the app") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The app is published by Yevhenii Rubanov.

What you may do

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for as long as these terms are respected. You may not resell the app, rent it out, or try to extract its source.

What the app actually does

The app shows you a passage of Scripture for the number of minutes you chose. It does not seize control of your phone: the interruption comes from a Shortcuts automation you create yourself, and you can leave the reading screen at any time — the way out is on screen from the first second. "Remove all guards" is the first item in Settings and takes effect immediately.

Because the interruption depends on an automation on your device, we cannot promise it fires every single time; iOS decides when automations run. The app is a habit, not a security product, and it is not a substitute for Screen Time restrictions set by a parent or guardian.

Scripture and the devotional

The Bible text is the King James Version (1769) and the devotional is Morning and Evening by C. H. Spurgeon (1865). Both are in the public domain. Nothing in the spiritual text is generated by AI, and the app offers no commentary of our own.

Pro

The habit is free forever: three guarded apps, the whole Bible, the reading session and your streak cost nothing and always will. Pro is optional and adds depth — unlimited guarded apps, reading paths, strict mode, Spurgeon's devotional beside the passage and your full history.

Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription (weekly or yearly) or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation. You can cancel or manage a subscription at any time in your Apple account — cancelling stops the next renewal and does not refund the current period. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policy, not by us. Prices are shown by the App Store in your local currency before you confirm.

What the app does not promise

The app is provided "as is". We do not promise it will change your habits, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for anything you did or did not read.

Ending it

You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. Deleting it removes every guard with it — nothing stays locked on your phone once the app is gone.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app after that means accepting the new terms.
